Seattle

The city of Seattle is the hidden damp green gem of the US situated in Washington state. A major gateway for trade with Asia, Seattle is a seaport city and the largest one in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Incredible natural landscape combined with the lively, urban environment makes Seattle alluring to both nature admirers and city slickers. This emerald city features a magnificent mountain setting; the ice pyramid of Mount Rainier rising out of the Cascade Mountains to the east and the partly snow-capped peaks of Olympic National Park to the west. It offers a best of both worlds, indoor options like eminent museums, marketplaces, well-known buildings, restaurants and the riches of outdoor beauty such as beaches in West Seattle, parks and zoos, cruising and boating spots, etc. Not just these, the city is well-known for its music, vibrant arts, lifestyle, coffee (you can find it at the end of every street), culture, and to name a few.

So, what are you waiting for? Book your tickets to Seattle on FareOKing.com and get in the mood to have some surreal experience.

Top Attractions

Discovery Park

Spread across the 534 acres on the shores of Puget Sound, Discovery Park is the largest park in the city. Formerly a military base, it has become one of the best places to view wildlife, mainly marine creatures, and birds. It encompasses forest, meadows, and coastline with a National Recreation Trail which runs 2.8 miles through the park. The park is also home to Daybreak Star Cultural Center, a Native American cultural hub and art gallery that hosts interactive displays and information about the park in addition to education programs for all ages.

The Space Needle

One of Seattle’s pride, the Space Needle is an observation tower which has also become international fame. This flying saucer on a stick was originally built for the 1962 World's Fair but has transformed into an entertainment center and park area with restaurants, sports complexes, and theaters. It is standing at 605 feet high that provides a 360° view of Seattle and a sight of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, Elliott Bay, and surrounding islands. It has an observation deck at 520 feet (with interactive and informative displays inside) and the rotating SkyCity restaurant at 500 feet (it takes 47 minutes to take a 360-degree rotation). Visit the giant tower and reach the top of the Space Needle by elevators in just 41 seconds and take a glance at the Pacific Northwest.

Pike Place Market

Can you just imagine how old this market is? More than a century, yes, it was opened in 1907 which was intended to bring regional farmers and consumers together. It is also one of the oldest farmers’ marketplaces in the entire US. Set up on the steep hill, the market is a multilevel space that features a variety of restaurants, bakeries, farm-fresh produce, quirky shops, bookstores, collectibles stores, etc. So, head to this very famous market and shoot pictures with Rachel, the bronze pig (the market’s mascot) or at the famous "Gum Wall" in Post Alley.

Best Time to Visit

Seattle has cool, wet winters and mild, relatively dry summers to offer its visitors. The best time to visit Seattle is in the months of late spring to early fall (Between May and October) when the sky is clear and the weather is also pleasant. It also includes summers that have sunny skies, minimal rain, and numerous outdoor events and festivals, the perfect time for the visitors but also a peak season. Winters exhibits chilly winds and ever-present drizzle, so if you plan to visit during this season, then pack a good amount of clothes and a raincoat. Meanwhile, spring offers warmer temperatures but encounters some rain and cooler breezes.
