Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site

The Cape Spear Lighthouse is the oldest national historic site in Newfoundland, originally built in 1839. Thrilling cliffs and two lighthouses make the Cape Spear as the most easterly point in North America, located just southeast of St. John's. The tower was in use until 1955 when a new stand-alone tower was constructed nearby using the light from the original one. Basilica of St. John the Baptist

The Basilica-Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is the metropolitan cathedral of the Roman Catholic archbishop of St. John's and the mother church.
