Standing at the height of 626 ft., Calgary Tower was built to honor Canada’s centennial year of 1967.  It was originally called Husky tower and opened as the tallest free-standing observation tower of Calgary. Fort Calgary

The fort, known as the birthplace of the city of Calgary was set up in 1875 at the confluence of the Elbow and Bow Rivers. The site is famous as Mohkinsstis (Blackfoot), Wîchîspa (Stoney), and Guts’ists’I (Tssut’ina). The foundations of the original fort can still be seen, and the Calgary Fort Museum allows you to puzzle out the creation of the city. Moreover, you will be able to find and shop souvenirs and RCMP collectibles from the gift shop present on site. 

Best Time to Visit Calgary

The best months to visit Calgary are from May to August and from November to March and if you wish to explore the Canadian Rockies, then visit the place from June to September. In winter, Calgary is famous for having unpredictable weather. Weeks could pass without a trace of snow and then a great dump of the blizzard will make its presence known.
